Care of the Earth

Watershed Care

Rain garden! Starting with a baking flat parking lot Shalom partnered with Watershed Management Group to re-form the contours of the land under our care. We’ve dug basins where the rain can soak in and nurtured native plants that give beauty and shade.

Protecting the Earth
Standing with our Native Brothers and Sisters

“Shalom Mennonite Fellowship stands with the San Carlos Apache and Tohono O’odham nations in opposition to proposed mines at Oak Flat and in the Santa Rita Mountains.” (adopted by congregation 9/9/18) For more information see:

Creation Care Small Group

This group meets for mutual encouragement, learning and grounding our creation care in the Spirit. We have studied articles and books, and organized creation care activities (e.g. community garden work day, hike in the mountains, climate crisis action…). You are welcome to join.
